SAMPLE OF THE HEARING CONSERVATION PROGRAM


SOME OF THE TOPICS COVERED IN THIS PROGRAM ARE:

The results noise level surveys will be posted on the employee information board. Employees that are exposed to noise levels at or above an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels shall be notified by the (Name/Title) of the monitoring results and how this program effects them.

All survey results will be maintained by the (Name/Title) and located at (location) . They will be available for review and copy from (Date) to (Date) upon request.

When the noise level of an area reaches an average noise level of 85 dBA or greater, an effort will be made to reduce the noise level by the use of engineering controls. If engineering controls can not be used or it is not economically feasible, then these areas will be classified as "noise areas". All "noise areas" will be equipped with signs stating that this area has a noise hazard and requires that ear protection be use.
